ABOUT MTGS

Welcome to Mission Transformation of Government Schools (MTGS) Manipur, an initiative launched by a team of like-minded, dynamic, energetic, and dedicated teachers working under the Department of Education (S), Government of Manipur. Our purpose is to improve academic performance and nurture a competitive spirit among students in government schools. Our aim is to enhance the quality of learning—both academic and non-academic—through close cooperation with government agencies. We are committed to working in partnership with the Department to achieve significant improvements in school performance within just a few years.

Founding Vision

The idea of establishing this renowned teachers’ organization was first conceived by Shri Khumanthem Keshokumar Singh, the founding President of MTGS, while serving as a dedicated and visionary primary teacher in a Government Junior High School. Founded on the strong belief that knowledge is the most powerful tool for positive social change, we bring together government school teachers to volunteer, collaborate, innovate, and collectively support meaningful educational initiatives. This inspiring vision firmly laid the foundation for Mission Transformation of Government Schools (MTGS).

Our Mission

Our mission is to enhance the quality of learning for students in Government schools—both in academic and non-academic areas—through close cooperation with government agencies. We are committed to working in partnership with the Department of Education (S) to achieve significant improvements in school performance within just a few years. Teachers are committed to teaching, guiding, and nurturing students, not only in classrooms but in every sphere of society. Together, as committed employees, we can work towards remarkable change for the betterment of our children.

About Our Members

Our members are primarily government school teachers who voluntarily dedicate their time, skills, and personal resources to enhance education quality. The group also includes retired teachers, education activists, and occasionally administrative staff who support our mission. They work without extra remuneration, driven purely by commitment to student development. Employees of the Department of Education (S), Manipur, are encouraged to collaborate with us in organizing various programs and activities aimed at promoting students’ learning, growth, and welfare.

Our Accomplishments

We have successfully conducted annual competitive examinations for students of classes III to VIII in government schools across the state. Three editions of the competition were completed in 2019, 2022, and 2024. Beyond organizing exams, we have actively supported children in relief camps by providing books, study materials, stationery, and other essential educational resources to aid their learning and overall personal development. These initiatives reflect our ongoing strong commitment to significantly improving education opportunities and overall well-being for students in Manipur.
